SO WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?

There are lots of pubs in Cockermouth. Some boarded up, some driven down, some just a long distant memory. The Bush Cockermouth is one much loved phoenix now rising from the ravages of recent years. From Covid, through to Floods and Council misdemeanours, this pub is finally on the up! So let's not just beat around the Bush....let's jump right into it!

The Bush Inn's most warm and welcoming team (and not a single criminal record amongst them, no matter what you hear..) includes: Nigel, Aloon, Tyler and Rebecca welcome the people of Cockermouth in a friendly and smiley way. "Aye, Its a grand laal pub" you’ll often hear people say when they're relaxing in our spacious bar areas. You’ll find Aloon in the kitchen, and Jona Lewie only there at parties.

It's these ingredients that wraps The Bush into a perfect package of what any traditional Northern town pub should be… a place you’ll want to call your local… whether you're just visiting Cockermouth, or live round the corner. The other jewel in an ever increasingly sparkly crown is the soon to be re-introduction of live music at the pub. Showcasing local talent always different, but always quality controlled to be good!

Nigel has his first attempt at a Brewery-taught method called 'Herding'. This involves slowly ushering customers toward the bar who may have been under the illusion they were about to leave the premises....

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS

ARE SAYING....

There is a post box in the pub, but as we can no longer get a horse through the door, collections are unlikely, and anyway, stamps are too expensive for anyone to post a letter anymore. This post box is really old as it has 'V' and 'R' on it, which actually stood for 'Violet'' and 'Rita', after a couple of long gone customers who would often lead the singalong in the front bar, which was then a stable.

Nigel welcomes a slightly bemused pair of customers. The young fella at the front thinks he's seen a situation arising...

This is as near as Landlord Nigel and Barney get to a Champions belt, and, well... a champion!
